Raymond A. Breault, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on July 12, 2026, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Ray was born on October 23, 1943, in Claremont, New Hampshire, to Adrian and Lillian Breault. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1966, attaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and proudly serving for 18 months in Vietnam. His experience as a Marine and Vietnam veteran remained an important part of his life and later inspired many years of service to his fellow veterans and service members.

Following his military service, Ray continued his education and graduated from Bentley College in Boston in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He began a lifelong career in banking with New England Merchants, which later became Bank of Boston. In August 1974, Ray moved to Florida, where he continued with Atlantic Bank, which later became First Union. He remained with the bank until his retirement in the early 2000s. Not quite ready to fully retire, Ray opened a mortgage brokerage business and later worked with a bankruptcy attorney before fully retiring in 2013.

In retirement, Ray devoted considerable time to serving his fellow veterans through Vietnam Veterans of America, both locally and at the state level. He was also an active member of the Cursillo community. Ray believed in showing up for people. He was generous with his time, willing to help wherever he could and served as a mentor to many throughout his life.

Ray had a wide range of interests. He was an avid genealogist who traced the Breault family lineage as far back as the 1600s. He also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, boating, golfing and playing chess. A loyal Boston Red Sox fan, Ray never lost his New England roots despite making Florida his home for nearly five decades.

He also loved to travel and was fortunate to participate in a number of pilgrimages over the years. Above all, Ray valued the people in his life. He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed having fun and could always be counted upon when someone needed him.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jeanne Breault; his daughters, Desiree (Breault) Railey and Elaine (Breault) Corse and her husband, Chris; his grandchildren, Kathleen and her husband, Thomas, Blake, Joshua, Jacob and Henry; his great-granddaughter, Lyra; and his brother James Breault. His family is also joyfully awaiting the arrival of another great-grandchild later this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Lillian Breault; his first wife, Lorraine; his daughter, Colleen; and his brother, Daniel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Ray will then be laid to rest later in the afternoon at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
