Mary Katherine Key MacLean (Kathy Key MacLean), age 74, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, went to join her Savior on June 2, 2026
Born on August 10, 1951, in Nashville, Tennessee, Kathy was raised in Longview, Texas, before moving to Florida during her tenth-grade year. She graduated from Terry Parker High School in 1969. Kathy enjoyed a successful career in finance and retired from Vistakon. A faithful Christian, she found deep comfort and guidance in Scripture, particularly cherishing two favorite verses: 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Hebrews 13:2 “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.” Kathy was the cornerstone of her family — a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and generous soul who found joy in doing for others. An avid reader, she also loved shopping and traveling. After retirement, she discovered a passion for sewing and embroidery, using her talents to create beautiful holiday decorations, intricate embroidered pieces, and heartfelt homemade gifts that brought warmth and joy to her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Alfred MacLean; her mother, Betty Demaree Roy; her sister, Alison Roy Bennett (Glen); her sister-in-law, Jo Key; her daughter, Stacy MacLean Shiver (Bryan); and her nephews, Davis Bennett and Noah Bennett. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Flint Key; her stepfather, Marty Roy; and her brother, Michael Key. Her life was defined by faith, love, and quiet acts of kindness that touched everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all whose lives she so lovingly touched.
Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2026, from 6-8 pm at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service is Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 11 am in the chapel of Quinn Shalz, followed by burial at Beaches Memorial Park.
