With deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Jeanette Amonette, who departed peacefully on July 23rd 2026 at the age of 87.
For 65 wonderful years, she was the devoted and beloved wife of Gary Amonette. Together, they built a marriage founded on unwaivering love, mutual respect, faith, laughter, and enduring commitment. Through every joy and challenge, they stood side by side, creating a legacy that will continue the lives of those they love.
Jeanette was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was also a caring friend whose beauty and kindness touched everyone she met. She found happiness in caring for her family, celebrating life's simple moments, and making everyone around her feel loved, heard, and supported. Her warmth, generosity, gentle spirit, and unwaivering love will be remembered always.
An avid painter, Jeanette greeted many aspects of life with an artistic eye. She used color and imagination to capture the beauty she saw in the world around her. Whether creating landscapes, flowers, or heartfelt works for family and friends, her art reflected her dedication and appreciation for life.
A true lover of flowers, Jeanette found joy in every bloom and beauty in every season. The vibrant colors of blossoms and the peaceful moments spent with her flowers brought her endless happiness. She nurtured every plant with patience and care, sharing bouquets, and smiles with family, friends, and others around her. Jeanette's green thumb was not limited to plants. She brought life to anything and everyone she touched. May we remember her each time a flower opens, a butterfly or hummingbird visits, or when spring returns, reminding us that love, like flowers, leaves a lasting legacy.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 in Quinn Shalz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 30th with interment in Long Branch Cemetery, 5500 Long Branch Cemetery Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32234.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior in Heaven. We rejoice knowing she will never again know pain or sorrow. We are so very blessed to have many, many wonderful memories with her. Her love was a gift that will remain in the hearts of her family forever. Until we meet again, Jeanette, Mom, Meme, Grandmother, you will be truly missed. We love you.
