Katherine Miller

Katherine Claire Miller, 59, passed away at her home, on September 16, 2021.  She was born May 31, 1962 in Great Lakes, IL, as Leah Marie Wandersee.  She grew up in Florida, Illinois, Maryland and Minnesota due to her father’s military service.  She spent her adult life in San Diego, CA, moving to the Jacksonville Beach area last October.

Katherine obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1992, from National University, after attending a year at Mankato State University, community college and a year at San Diego State University.  She worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years after graduation.  She also obtained her cosmetology license via night school while working full time.  She volunteered her time and money to multiple animal rescue organizations, adopting all her pets from several of these facilities.

Katherine is survived by her father, Richard Wandersee (Cathy), brother Paul Wandersee (Karin), sister Desiree Morsching, three nieces, Danielle, Amanda, Elizabeth, great niece, Kristen and great nephews, Kevin and Magnus and her fur babies, Minnie and Jewel.  She was predeceased in death by her mother (Phyllis Green Wandersee).

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home.
