James A. Ryals, 68, passed away peacefully November 15, 2019 surrounded by family and friends in Jacksonville, FL. Originally from Jesup, GA he moved to Jacksonville, FL as a teenager and remained a devoted Georgia Bulldogs football fan. Soon after moving to FL, James began working for Joseph Chancey and the Chancey family only to be drafted a few years later to the Air Force and was stationed in California. He returned from his military service and back to working with the Chancey family at Chancey Trailers where he worked his way up and retired as Vice President of Production in 2019 at Chancey Metal Products. When he wasn't working, James enjoyed collecting baseball cards, comic books and coins, he also enjoyed watching and playing golf, as well as taking photographs. He will be remembered for being a loving and big-hearted person, for his generosity and how he gave his all to his work and to so many. He will be forever remembered and dearly missed.

He is survived by his daughter Jamie L. (Michael) Ricketson of Kingsland, GA; grandchildren Charlie and James “Bubba” (Bryanna) Marr; sister Patsey O. Duce of Marianna, FL; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Willow Ryals of Jesup, GA;  maternal grandparents Sherrod and Annie Lane of Jesup, GA; his parents Alene E. Nunley of Keystone Heights, FL and Robert O. Ryals of Jesup, GA; sisters Bobbie L. Fernandez of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ann McCullough of Jacksonville, FL; and loving wife of 17 years, Patricia Ryals of Jacksonville, FL.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in his memory Saturday February 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Sonrise Worship Center, located 600 Levy Road, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233.

All are welcome to attend and if you would like to share your memories about James, you are more than welcome and encouraged to do so at the service.
