Zakary Morgan King

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zakary Morgan King, a loving son, devoted brother, cherished grandson, and a friend to many. Zakary left us peacefully on June 9, 2025, due to a genetic heart condition known as CPVT. He was born on July 8, 2005, in Jacksonville, FL, and lived a life that brought light and joy to those around him.

Zakary is survived by his loving parents, Scott & Meghan King;  his beloved brother, Cody Waldron (Carly); his caring grandparents, Larry and Pam McDonald; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Patricia King.

From a young age, Zak was known for his vibrant spirit and his ability to light up a room with his smile. He marched to the beat of his own drum, radiating love and kindness to all who knew him. With passions ranging from cars—where he could name every make and model, inspiring awe in his friends—to his creative aspirations in interior design, Zakary truly embraced life.

Zakary was a compassionate caregiver, devotedly looking after his beloved Grammy, Patricia King, for over six months prior to her passing. His kind heart and unwavering support were qualities that defined him, and he touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Graduating high school was a remarkable achievement for Zak, who faced challenges with tenacity. His determination in his senior year to buckle down and earn good grades will be a legacy that inspires those who knew him.

Zak had a zest for life—he adored shopping, cherished moments at the beach, and treasured time spent with friends. His aspirations included taking a year to care for others, pursuing his passion for design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia.

Zak's final act of generosity was through organ donation, giving the gift of life to nine individuals whose lives were forever changed by his selflessness.

In our hearts, Zakary Morgan King will always be remembered for the joy he brought into our lives. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
