Beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, Wyle Boyd Norman passed away unexpectedly at his Jacksonville home on October 22nd, 2022. Though Wyle was born on April 4th, 1977, in Gainesville, FL, Wyle built communities everywhere he lived including Gainesville, Costa Rica, Jacksonville, and most recently in San Juan, Puerto Rico. If you met Wyle as an acquaintance and he chose you as a friend, you became family.
It would take an eternity to list the names of everyone Wyle loved. Everyone who knew Wyle experienced his passion for people. We will forever remember the warmth of his smile which he inherited from parents David & India Norman, and which he shared with brother, Coleman Norman, and sister, Cady Norman Mooney, who is married to brother-in-love Michael Mooney.
When Wyle wasn’t managing maritime terminals, he loved to spend time by the ocean surfing or fishing, on the golf course, or cooking and making cocktails on the back porch of his home with people he loved. He was sold out for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Florida Gators, and Jesus Christ, not in that order. Having served for years as a chaplain at Florida state prisons, Wyle shepherded many people, and his faith and hope in Jesus Christ have been a shining light to inmates and free men alike.
Most of all, Wyle loved his Norman girls – the love of his life and his wife of 24 years, Camille, and his two beautiful daughters, Lianna and Alyssa, but welcomed so many more honorary daughters into his home. Wyle may have entered this world with two siblings, but he left it with countless brothers and sisters who will forever be impacted by his life and love.
