William David Wister, Jr.

William “Bill" David Wister, Jr., passed peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Baptist Beaches Hospital in Jacksonville Beach, FL, at the age of 59, following a brief battle with cancer. He was living in Jacksonville, FL since April 2024. Bill was born on October 10, 1966 in Greenwich, CT to Carol Weeks Wister, currently of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and the late William David “Dave” Wister, Sr. He is survived by his children William “Trey" David Wister, III (Callista), of Abilene, TX, and Cassandra “Cassie" Jocelyn Wister of Frisco, TX and their mother, Mercy Magaly “Maggie” Goyburu, also of Frisco, Bill’s former wife of twenty-six years. He is also survived by his sister, Heather Wister Fouts (Lou) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

Bill grew up in Old Greenwich, CT, attending public schools, Eagle Hill School and St. Mary High School, graduating in 1985. In May 2000 he graduated from Norwalk Community College with an Associate in Science degree in Business Administration. Bill worked as a Sales Associate in Old Greenwich, Norwalk, Frisco, TX, and Jacksonville, FL, demonstrating what true customer service was with his patience and kindness.

Bill will be remembered for his vast knowledge of and passion for music across the decades, and his joy in sharing that love of music with his family and friends. He was also an avid, life-long fan of the New York Giants and New York Yankees and never wavered in that loyalty despite living in TX for many years.

A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 am.
