Will C Chaffee, III, born on December 29, 1950, in Wamego, Kansas, passed away on September 27, 2025, at Mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was surrounded by family, enjoying a calm farewell with his favorite worship music playing in the background. His final moments were filled with love and peace.
A respected figure in real estate development and franchise sales, Will was known for his perfect record in achieving entitlements. He was affectionately dubbed the "mayor of Wednesday night meetings," showcasing his dedication and commitment to his career. Will's educational journey began in high school, where he was recognized as the renaissance man, and later at the University of Phoenix, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. His leadership and persistence made him a role model to many, especially to his children.
Will was not only a successful professional but also a man with a kind heart and a servant mentality. People often praised him for his genuine care for others. Known as a prayer warrior, Will would often conclude conversations with the question, “What can I do for you today?” His love for reading, especially his Bible, as well as his passion for horses, fast cars and the Jay Hawks, reflected the multifaceted nature of his personality. His lifeblood, however, was always his wife, children and grandchildren.
He leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten, proud that all of his children and grandchildren know Jesus. Will is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Charlene Chaffee; his son, John Kozar and daughter Hannah ; his son, Will C Chaffee IV “Chad”, daughter-in-law, Bethany, and their children Will C V, Jonathon, and Joseph; his daughter Jessica, her husband Thomas Livesay, and their twin daughters Dorothy and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Will C Chaffee, JR, and Pattie Lou Chaffee.
