Wilfred Augustus Macauley, at the age of 72, was called peacefully to be home with the Lord on March 19, 2025. He was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone to Wilfred and Betsy Abioseh Macauley on August 7, 1952. Wilfred’s parents instilled in him a drive for continuous learning and advancement. He attended Tabernacle Primary school and Bishop Johnson Secondary school in Freetown. In 1975, he immigrated from Sierra Leone to earn a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management at Florida Memorial University. He went on to achieve a Master’s in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.

Wilfred was an astute business man with an unwavering work ethic. He retired as the President of Wilmac, Inc. Wilfred was the founder of this diversified company which had a primary focus on foodservice distribution and facility management in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to establishing his own business, Wilfred worked as an executive at PYA/Monarch LLC and served as Vice President of Operations for Royal Food Service, Inc.

A true servant-leader at heart, Wilfred dedicated his life to supporting the growth and well-being of his family, friends, community, and Sierra Leone culture. His spirit and personality were larger than life. Wilfred remains a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his dedicated and beautiful wife of nearly 50 years: Isabella Macauley, Children: Cheryl Macauley-James and Nipsey Macauley, Grandchildren: Christian Macauley and Jahmai James, Daughter-in-law: Maria Macauley, Son-in-law: Jonathan Jeffery James, Sisters: Hannah Caulker, Rachel Kpaka, Milicent Kassim and Betsy Hamilton, Brother-in-law: Bobby Hamilton, Nephews: Samuel Sankoh, Prince Caulker, Lloyd Caulker, Dalton John, John Hamilton, and Bobby Hamilton, Jr., and Nieces: Mina Boston and Juliana Taylor.

His memory is cherished by countless other relatives and close friends at home and abroad, including the Smythe Family, Gibril Family, Martyn Family, Olu-Taylor Family, Gladys Pyne Caulker Family, Bull Family, Fowler Family, Claude Lee, and Comfort Khadra.

May Wilfred Augustus Macauley’s legacy live on forever as his soul rests in perfect peace.

To commemorate Wilfred’s remarkable life: Visitation will be held at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Quinn Shalz Burial to follow at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery
