Jacksonville

Wayne A. Miller, 70, passed away August 2, 2023. He was born December 31, 1952, in Lockport, NY. He moved to Florida in 1958 where he lived and worked in Palm Beach County until he retired in 2019.

Wayne followed his calling to music education and became a Band Director in Palm Beach County in 1976. He inspired the lives of his students; guiding and encouraging thousands, many of whom are still involved in the Arts today. He consistently held his students to the highest standards and earned a reputation of excellence in performance, musicianship and character. As a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, he was a highly respected and sought after adjudicator and clinician. Wayne, an avid fisherman, spent much of his free time on the water. He also loved playing golf and would often explore new courses while enjoying traveling. Above all else, Wayne treasured time spent with his family, especially his Granddaughters who were the shining light of his life.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy; sons, Jason (Casey), Jeremy (Kate) and Justin; granddaughters, Morgan and Jillian; sister, Connie Dolin (Gary) and many nieces and nephews.
