Victoria “Vickie” (Terreta) Taylor, age 88, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Fleet Landing in Atlantic Beach, FL, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers, after a courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.
Born on July 9, 1937, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, to Paul and Angelina (Loverdi) Terreta, Vickie was a graduate of Brownsville High School. After attending Secretary School, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she met her future husband, Commander John “Jack” Brownlee Taylor, USN Ret.
As a proud naval wife, Vickie embraced the challenges of military life, moving with Jack and their family across the globe and the country. After nine relocations, they settled in Atlantic Beach, FL. There, Vickie found success in her career as a real estate agent with Watson Realty. In the 1990s, her name was frequently displayed as Watson’s Realtor of the Month at their Neptune Beach office—a testament to her dedication and expertise.
Vickie had a deep love for cooking, especially preparing traditional Italian meals. Her holiday dinners were legendary, and she was known for baking the most delicious cookies, which Jack would proudly deliver to friends and family each holiday season.
She is survived by her sister, Jean (Terreta) Eisenhuth; her children, Mark (Sonja), Scott (Tulie), and Jill (Randy); and four beloved grandchildren: Paul, Ellen, Savannah, and Marina.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Paul and Angelina Terreta; and her siblings, Florence “Bunny” (Terreta) Moser, Paula (Terreta) Skrobot, and Joe Terreta.
Special thanks go to Janet Griswold for her unwavering support and expert care as Vickie’s caregiver manager, as well as to the Nancy House team and the skilled nursing team at the Derfer Health Care Pavilion at Fleet Landing for their exceptional care.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Vickie’s long-term caregivers—Diana, Roselene, Sylvia, and Rossana—whose compassion and dedication ensured her comfort throughout her illness.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Vickie’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD). Contributions can be made online at theaftd.org.
