Thomas McClure

Thomas Scott McClure, 76, of Neptune Beach, FL passed away January 27, 2019 at his home. Scott was born December 3, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio and raised in several cities in Ohio, New Jersey and New York. He graduated from Linton High School, Schenectady NY and USN Electrician’s Mate Electrical School, Great lakes Illinois. Scott served aboard USS Stribling (DD-867) and made his career in Shipboard Electrical systems retiring from SERMC Mayport in 2010.

Scott enjoyed football games, especially when the Ohio State Buckeyes were winning, he was a water skier and liked to cruise the waterways of North Florida with his boat and for exercise he jogged on the beach. Scott was a Life member of the American Legion and a Master Mason.

Family members include his wife, Rose Lee McClure; brother Michael J. McClure (Diane); sister Molly A. Anthony (Don); and a special little buddy next door Miss Whitney Marie Wagner.

He was predeceased by his father Joseph F. McClure; mother Audrey E. McClure; step-mother Madeleine H. McClure; and brother John Robert “Jay” McClure.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1423 Eighth Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
