Stephen Edward Bishop

Stephen Edward Bishop passed away May 26, 2022.  He was born July 27, 1958 in Jacksonville Beach, FL where he grew up graduating from Fletcher High School in 1976 and continued to reside in Ponte Vedra Beach.

Steve began his career with TPC in 1977.  In 1987 he started his own company, Bishop Golf Course Construction, building several golf courses all over the world including Korea and Dubai. In 2002, he began working for The Plantation Club as their Assistance Golf Course Superintendent where he continued to work until the time of his passing.

Steve enjoyed watching golf tournaments, spending time outside listening to music and working in his garden. He was an avid Gator Football fan.

Steve is survived by his son, Jason of Macon, Georgia; daughter, Elexis of Ponte Vedra Beach; brothers, David Bishop (Steve) of Brunswick, GA, Clyde Bishop (Denise) of Cocoa Beach, William Ackland of Ponte Vedra Beach and Tim Ackland (Charlie)  Hampton, VA; granddaughter, Makenzie; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Sandra Ackland

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 in St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach, Fl 32250 with the Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant.
