Shari J. “Sacka” Duffy (78), Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (formerly Rumson, NJ) February 8, 2026. Graduated Georgetown University, BS Nursing 1970. Wife, mother, and grandmother. Devoted volunteer of her children’s education at Holy Cross School and Red Bank Catholic High School, where she served for one year as president of the Parent-Teacher Association. When her children were old enough, Sacka resumed her nursing career with the Visiting Nurse Association of Monmouth County (NJ). Sacka served her patients in Oceanport, Long Branch, Middletown, Sea Bright, Monmouth Beach, Frair Haven, and Rumson during a span lasting over twenty years. In her free time, Sacka was an avid Bridge player, also producing works of art in needlepoint. Thoroughly outgoing, Sacka made many friends wherever she was. Surviving are her husband Jim of over fifty-two years, four children, and twelve grandchildren. Her daughters Maureen Mayer and her husband Will and their children Riley, Rory, Reeghan, and Reese; Katie Kleeblatt and her husband Michael and their children Ford, Hunter and Casey; Her sons, Jim and his wife Lynn and their sons Jimmy and Billy; and Brendan and his wife Lauren and their children Declan, Grace, and Johnathan. Sacka also leaves behind sister, Penny Cahill. Predeceased was her beloved infant son, Kevin Patrick, her parents Mr. And Mrs. M.A. Jochem of Quincy, IL., and sister Cindy Rodriquez.
Viewing will take place on February 18 at 4-7 PM at the John E Day Funeral Home in Red Bank, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be at Holy Cross Church in Rumson on February 19 at 10:30 AM with an internment immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Luncheon at the Rumson Country Club-River House at noon.
