Ryan Jacob DeJoris

May 10, 1981 — January 22, 2023

It is with unimageable grief, and heartbreak that we share the sad news that our beloved son, Ryan Jacob DeJoris, our Ry Guy, your daddy’s Trismo, our little Monkey Sausage… passed away at the age of 42 on January 22, 2023. He has finally lost his brave and lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis that left him unable to carry on. He was the bravest of warriors until the bitter end, until his ravaged lungs could no longer sustain him.  He has left an indelible mark on our family and all the many who have always loved him. Before he succumbed to his disease Ryan was a talented photographer, lover of fishing, the beach, his dogs Pearl, and Oliver, pulling pranks and cracking jokes with all of us. We will never forget the shoulder shaking sound of your laughter, baby. It was infectious and such a gift to all of us. You have left us far too soon and our hearts, or whatever is left of them are broken. Ryan has left behind his two parents, Bethany Mickler Padgett, his father Tim DeJoris, and his big brother, Timbo DeJoris.  He was surrounded by our love until the end as we assured him of God’s promises and held him through until his final goodbye. He valiantly passed from this world where he will be met by his precious dog, Pearly Sue, his Grandpa Phil, his Aunt Lesli, his Uncle’s Raymond and Bubba Mickler, his Grandmother Barbara DeJoris, to name just a few. He leaves behind so many who loved him it would be impossible to name them all, He is survived by countless cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends. All who stood by him closely and prayed him through his fight with this disease that finally took his life. Most notably, his grandmother, Merline Mickler - Jobes, his Aunt Wanda Langford, His Aunt Fay Farace, and his cousin Kimberly Mullen. All of you provided Ryan such constant nurturing and love. You were always there to lend an ear during his darkest days. I know how much it helped him to have you there and we will be forever grateful.

Ryan will be remembered for his enormous heart, his crazy sense of humor, and his great love for his dogs, Pearl and Oliver. They too were his constant companions and gave him much comfort during his most difficult days. Most of all he will be remembered for his tenacious and stubborn drive to live life on his own terms.

You are free now son. Fly high as you leave this Earth, no longer shackled by the chains that bound you. We love you, my baby, You did good… The Golden Cord of love will remain with us forever… Goodbye my little boy. Until we meet again…

For those of you who would like to say your final goodbyes… Ryan’s funeral will be held at Sampson Cemetery – 970 Brookhaven Drive, St. Augustine, Florida, 32092 on Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 AM

Immediately following the ceremony, friends, and family are invited to the home of Timbo & Carla DeJoris –310 Kiwi Palm Court , Nocatee, 32082
