Roy Daniel Castle, III

Roy Daniel Castle, III of Jacksonville Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at the age of 68. Roy was the first born child of R. Daniel and Mary Castle on September 14, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan. He attended and graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota in 1971where he was a 3 year letterman on the Varsity Wrestling team. He briefly attended the University of Minnesota.

In 1975 Roy relocated to Jacksonville Beach, Florida where he remained a resident until his death. He worked in the trades for many years as a painter. Roy loved the Florida Gators, enjoyed living in Jacksonville Beach, occasionally fishing and playing the scratch off lottery tickets.

Roy is survived by his mother Mary Castle; sisters Melinda (Robert) Bruner, Kathy Castle and Luci (Frank) Tappin; brothers Stuart (Tempus) and David (Carleen) Castle; and numerous nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents R. Douglas and Arlene Castle and maternal grandparents Harry and Lolo Bengry.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at 2pm at Quinn-Shalz Family Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street S., Jacksonville Beach, FL, 32250.  Attire will be casual and Florida Gator apparel/colors encouraged.
