WILLIAMS Robert S. Williams 1937-2013. After battling with pulmonary fibrosis, Bob Williams joined his beloved wife, Liz on April 29, 2013. Born in 1937 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Navy Lieutenant and Mrs. H. D. Williams, Bob grew up in first Green Cove Springs and then Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Landon High School where he was first chair trumpet and president of his senior class. As a Business Administration student at the University of Florida he was a leader in his ROTC program and in ATO where he met the love of his life, Liz. Upon joining the Air Force he received his first assignment overseas. He married his college sweetheart and traveled to Europe. Bob and Liz enjoyed the military life, traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Their favorite place, where they spent 20 years, was Wiesbaden Germany. During his military career he earned his Master s of Health Administration Degree at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, served in Vietnam, led the USAF Regional Medical Center in Wiesbaden and finally served on the Inspector General s team. He was highly decorated and received two Bronze Stars and the Legion of Merit. Throughout his life he was always a man of exceptional honor, taking pride in doing the right thing and selflessly helping others. His was passionate about his wife, family, and friends. He was an accomplished hunter. He is survived by his sister Judy Williams of Ponta Vedra; his daughters and their families, Terri and Tony Goodin of Makanda, Il., and Josi and David Amaral of Charlotte, NC; and his grandchildren Portia, Rob, Paul, and Josiah. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, with full military honors. Please visit our online Tribute at www.quinn-shalz.com.
