Robert James "Bobby" Cappock, 67, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on July 13, 2026, after a sudden illness.

Born on November 19, 1958, in Washington, D.C., Bobby graduated from Fletcher High School in 1977 before embarking on a distinguished career in the electrical supply industry. He began his career with ACE Electric on August 6, 1980, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of colleagues through his dedication, integrity, and unwavering work ethic. Following the company's acquisition, he continued his career with WESCO, where he remained until his last day, July 10, 2026, concluding nearly 46 years of loyal service.

Bobby embraced life with enthusiasm and lived it to the fullest. He found his greatest joy at the beach, where he loved riding his bike, listening to the waves, fishing, and soaking up the Florida sunshine. He was an avid fan of live music, Blues cruises, the Daytona 500, and, of course, Bob Marley. In the final years of his colorful life, one of his greatest loves was his faithful rescue poodle, Phyllis, who rarely left his side.

To know Bobby was to love him. Many believe the term "funcle" was invented just for him. He was the life of every gathering, had the loudest, most infectious laugh, and never met a stranger. If you knew Bobby, chances are you have at least one story that still makes you laugh. His greatest gift was making people feel like family. Whether you had known him for 30 years or 30 minutes, Bobby had a remarkable way of making you feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Above all else, Bobby loved his family fiercely. He had a signature phrase that none of us will ever forget. No matter how many times someone told him, "I love you," his response was always, "Love you more." Somehow, every single time, you believed him.

Bobby is survived by his loving mother, Donna Cappock, of Atlantic Beach, Florida; his sisters, Susan (Terry) Moore, Karen Hoffman (best friend Mary), and Nancy (Bill) Grawe. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Courtney (Allan) Bilyeu, Erin (Josh) Allen, Lindsey (Kevin) Lacz, Terry (Hyijin) Moore, Emily (Dan) Johnson, Sarah (Mike) Tomashefski, and Mary (Chris) Lemm, along with numerous dear friends and coworkers whose lives were brighter because of him. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Cappock and his aunt, Shirlee Sass.

While our hearts are broken because Bobby was taken from us far too soon, we find comfort in imagining his reunion with his father, Bob, his beloved Aunt Shirlee, and other loved ones who went before him. Knowing Bobby, he's already making heaven more fun; telling stories, making everyone laugh, and turning every gathering into a celebration. Heaven has undoubtedly become a much livelier place.

His family is profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. While they mourn an immeasurable loss, they are equally grateful for a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and stories that will continue to keep Bobby's spirit alive for generations to come.
