Robert Bourne Jr. (Bob) passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at McGraw Center, Jacksonville, Florida.  Bob was born to parents Edith Rae and Robert H. Bourne on October 2, 1935, in Montgomery, Alabama.  He attended high school and college in Montgomery where he graduated from Huntingdon College.  Soon after high school, he joined the army and served a tour of duty in Germany.  Prior to leaving for service, he married his high school sweetheart, Janis McKim who later joined him in Germany where their oldest son was born.  After college, Bob began a long career with the federal government which involved several moves.  He retired as the Manager of the St. Augustine Social Security Office.  Bob later founded Bourne & Associates where he was joined by his sons. With his desire to spend more free time for his favorite activities, golf, and travel, son Rob Bourne assumed control of the company in 2001.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, wife Janis, brother Henry and grandson Carey.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn, sons Rob (Karen) and Tom, grandson Tommy, brother Thomas (Margie) Bourne and many extended family members.  Bob and Carolyn were married in 2005, in Grayson, Georgia.  She joined him in Ponte Vedra, Florida where he had lived for many years.  Carolyn’s family quickly embraced him, and this included daughter, Liz and Jason Taylor and grandchildren, Corbin and Tori (who lovingly called him Pop).  Bob and Carolyn enjoyed several years of uncharted road trips visiting all 50 states pursuing their passions for National Parks, Presidential Museums, Lighthouses and well-known golf courses.  Bob was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville Beach.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Palms Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Music Ministry, Palms Presbyterian Church, 3410 South Third Street, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250.
