Richard Paul "Dick" Rogers, age 84, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born on November 20, 1938 in Hamilton, Ohio, to Paul and Wilhelmina (Zellner) Rogers, both of whom preceded him in death. Dick is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Susan (Fahrner) Rogers.
Dick graduated from the University of Cincinnati and was a member of the Alpha Xi chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Dick served many years as Executive Vice President and Director of Second National Bank in Hamilton until his retirement in 1986.
After relocating to Florida, he pursued his passion for boating and became a licensed yacht broker for Huckins Yacht Corporation in Jacksonville. He was highly respected for his knowledge of the construction and history of these classic yachts and enjoyed traveling the east coast making many friends in the boating world. In fact, he even owned and restored two beautiful Huckins yachts. He carried his love for the water on several river cruises throughout Europe and spent summer months visiting the boatyards all along the east coast of Maine.
A Graveside Service to honor Dick's life will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio.
