Rebecca Hood

Rebecca Hood, 77, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with pulmonary fibrosis on December 31, 2025. She was born in Greeley, Colorado and grew up in Farmington, NM and Fontana, CA. Her faith and family were paramount in her life. She worked as a dental hygienist and gemstone jewelry consultant.

Becky is survived by her loving husband of just shy of 56 years, Jack E. Hood, Jr. Within 14 days of getting to know each other, they eloped. Daughters, Kelly Hood Marinelli (Frankie), Lee Anne Hood Turner (Lane); grandchildren, Jason, Lauren, Ellis; Preston and Charlotte; and great grandchildren, Esmae and Eden. She was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Eutimia Velasquez; brothers, Johnny, Danny and Freddy; and sister, Lorraine. Her love, warmth, and kindness will be dearly missed.

A Catholic memorial mass will take place at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 7th at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach Boulevard Jacksonville. Following the funeral mass, the interment will take place at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
