Randy Wilson Harrell, 67, passed away on September 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fort Eustis, Virginia and grew up in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Randy moved to Jacksonville, Florida to start a career in the trash hauling business. He then went to work at Publix in 2009 and retired in 2018.
Randy never met a stranger, and his heart was bigger than this world. He loved his family to his core, and they were everything to him. Even after retirement, he continued to work occasional shifts at Publix so that he could provide for his family and friends. He was a doer and would finish something before you had time to stop him or ask for help. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone, and was the funniest, most upfront guy you will ever meet.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Diana; sons, Andy (Amber), Dustin, Andre (Sara); daughter Ally; grandchildren Nicholas and Audrey; great-grandchildren Alayah; sister Linda (Cliff); sister-in-law Pilar (Josh); and many more nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Eddie and Naomi Harrell. He leaves behind an even larger beautiful extended family on Red Mill Court and through Publix.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, September 26th , 2024 at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Good Days, Camp Boggy Creek, Jay Fund and the American Heart Association.
