Rafal Tomasz Marmur, DMD FAGD, was born July 3, 1971 in Warsaw, Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1986 at the age of fifteen. He passed away August 31, 2025. He graduated from Rutgers College, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Rafal served his nation with honor and distinction as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy.
Rafal loved above all, his wife Barbara and his entire family and dear friends. He enjoyed his frequent trips to many destinations around the globe with his wife. He was an epicurean with a refined taste for fine wines.
Rafal was always willing and anxious to share his knowledge on a wide array of subjects with anyone. His knowledge of travel, medicine and international history was remarkable.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara; mother, Dosia Marmur; stepfather, George Lapcik; sister-in-law, Ava Miller her husband Anthony; two cherished nieces, Jennifer Meletti her husband Robert and their son Dexter and Monica Blihar her son Beau; and cousin Patrycja Kowalczyk. There are many other relatives residing in Poland.
The family deeply appreciates all the kind thoughts and precious prayers that have been offered by family, neighbors and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2025 at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd St S., Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
