Rae O. "Bill" Weimer II, passed to be with his Lord Jesus Christ and the Church Triumphant from Fleet Landing on March 5, 2026 in Atlantic Beach, FL.

Born in New York City, Bill grew up in Gainesville, FL from the age of five. He graduated from Gainesville High School and the University of Florida. Years later he also earned a Master of Divinity, a Master of Counseling, a Diploma from the Naval War College, and a Doctor of Ministry. Bill spent a lifetime joyfully studying, researching, learning, writing, and teaching in Christian ministries.

Bill married Eathel Findley Bowie of Anderson, SC, and was soon commissioned a Naval Officer. As a Surface Warfare Officer, he and his wife had tours in Europe and England. He was discharged from the Navy and attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in S. Hamilton, MA. During these years their two wonderful sons were born. He then was ordained a Presbyterian Minister and began his ten years of pastoring in North Augusta, SC; Decatur, GA; and Oxford, MS. Bill returned to active duty as a Navy Chaplain and served with Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard commands and ships, overseas and in the States. He retired from the Navy as Captain after 30 years active duty, and then served as Pastor of a special ecumenical congregation and Chaplain to the Mariner Sands Community in Stuart, FL until he retired. In 2014, Bill and Eathel moved to Fleet Landing, a Continuous Care Retirement Community, in Atlantic Beach, FL.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Meister Weimer; father, Rae O. Weimer; and his stepmother, Wilma Parvin Weimer. Bill is survived by Eathel, his beloved wife of 58 years, and his dearly loved family members: son Hunter and his wife Carolyn and their children Laith, Lance, and Lexi; son Ryan and his wife Adrian and their children Annabel and Briella; and his sister Dr. Ann Moxley and brother-in-law Jim Solar.
