Philip Porter, II

Philip Kelsey Porter II, 61, passed away on January 25, 2021. Phil was born July 20, 1959, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He grew up in Brookline, MA, and spent his entire adult life in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.

Phil was a member of the Class of 1978 at Brooks School in North Andover, MA he then went on to Ithaca College in New York State, where he graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. After graduating college, Phil moved to Jacksonville, his mother’s hometown. Phil worked as a Purchasing Agent at Florida Rock Industries, where he proudly worked for 25 years. Phil spent his retirement playing golf with his beloved Dewsweepers, traveling with his family, enjoying Happy Hour at Pussers, and swimming laps every day at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

Phil was a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox, Florida Gators, and an original Season Ticket holder for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Phil is survived by sons, Philip and Matthew, ex-wife and devoted caregiver for the last years of his life Eileen Porter, siblings Cynthia (Tom) Ogden and Brooks (Katie) Porter, nieces, and nephews: Jack, Kate, Emily (Zickhur), George, Sarah (Ogden), Anna, Toby, and Louisa (Porter) as well close family members Molly and Monty Zickhur and Patricia Strain. Phil is predeceased by his parents Dr. Philip J. & Mrs. Sarah Baker Porter.

The family would like to thank the Palms at Ponte Vedra and his caregiver Elizabeth Rollox for their care and support.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be held at a later date.
