Paul Ed Quackenbush was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 2, 2023. Born to parents, Orville and L.C. Quackenbush, on December 1, 1941.   Paul grew up and lived in Cadillac, Michigan before graduating from High School and joining the Army.  During his time in the US Army, he was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone.  Upon discharge from the army, Paul served on the Panama Canal Police Force where his children, Paul David and Lisa Carol, were born.

Upon returning to the states, Paul and his family settled in Jacksonville, where he lived and loved for the remainder of his years.  On November 19, 1988, Paul and Georgia were married surrounded by friends and family.  Between them, they had four children, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Paul’s greatest loves were his family and friends.  In addition to his wife, Georgia Anne Quackenbush (Arslanian), Paul is survived by his daughter, Lisa Carol Moore (Paul), stepson, George Ruwisch (Karen), sister, Bonnie Ross and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Orville and L. C. Quackenbush, brother, Jack Quackenbush, son, Paul David Quackenbush and stepson, Steven Dennis Ruwisch.

For anyone who knew Paul, they knew of his great love for Jacksonville and all of the hometown sports teams.  As an inaugural season ticket holder for the Jaguars, Paul loved attending football games and cheering for the Jags!  More recently, Paul became a season ticket holder for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimps baseball team.  Attending every game possible, he would happily cheer for his team.  He spoke very proudly of the fact that he even has a chair at the stadium with his name on it.

Spending days with his wife Georgia, enjoying the birds on the back deck of their home or having a bon fire and “neighborhood time” were definitely some of his greatest joys.  He was always a willing helping hand and a friend to share a joke with.  Paul’s infectious laughter and sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone.
