In Loving Memory of Olga Prat

June 29, 1923- June 20, 2025

With profound sorrow and immense love, we announce the passing of Olga Prat, who departed this life peacefully on June 20, 2025, at the age of 101. She was surrounded by her family – just as she had always surrounded us – with warmth, care, and unconditional love.

Olga was born on June 29, 1923, in Havana, Cuba, to Francisco Inguanzo and Josefa Fernández. She was the youngest of eight children and grew up in a lively, close-knit household filled with love, laughter, and the deep traditions of Cuban family life. From an early age, Olga carried a spark of curiosity, kindness, and resilience – qualities that would define her for the rest of her life.

In Havana, she met the love of her life, Raimundo Prat. Together, they built a marriage rooted in deep love, partnership, and devotion – a union that lasted 53 years and stood as a shining example of commitment and tenderness. Their life together was filled with music, family, and countless shared moments that became the foundation of their legacy.

Her journey was marked by strength and tenderness in equal measure. Olga was a woman of resilience, having navigated life’s challenges with quiet courage and unwavering faith. She faced each day with a smile, a kind word, and an open heart.

She carried the heart of Cuba with her wherever she went – in her stories, her music, her delicious cafecito, and the home-cooked meals that brought everyone to the table. Her kitchen was a place of magic and comfort, where generations bonded over shared recipes and laughter.

Abuela was la fuerza de nuestra familia – the strength and glue that held us all together. She was a storyteller, a teacher, and a guardian of our heritage. She reminded us of our roots and inspired us to carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance.

Her laughter was infectious, her hugs healing, and her presence a source of calm and strength. “Familia lo es todo,” she often reminded us – Family is everything. Olga lived this truth in every action, every sacrifice, and every moment of joy she shared.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Olga Pená-Ariet, and son-in-law Rodolfo; her devoted son, Raimundo Prat; her stepdaughter, Maria Saavedra and Husband Carlos; and three cherished grandchildren: Adriana Pitts and husband Matt, Rodolfo Pená-Ariet, and Liana Pená-Ariet. And let’s not forget her faithful furry companions, who filled her days with unconditional love and companionship.

Beyond her immediate family, Olga touched the lives of many friends and community members with her warmth and generosity. She taught us that love transcends borders and that the heart’s capacity to care is limitless.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Olga’s spirit lives on – in the traditions she passed down, in the stories we tell, and in the love that binds us. We imagine her now dancing joyfully in heaven, reunited with her beloved husband, Raimundo Prat, who passed away in 2005, and all those who went before her

Descansa en paz, gracias por todo. Te amaremos siempre
