Listen to Obituary

Nancy Taylor, 83, passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born in Jacksonville Beach and could always be counted on to share stories of the Beaches from her youth. She attended Fletcher High School through 9th grade, then moved with her family to Texas, where she completed high school. After a memorable summer spent working at the 1964 World’s Fair in New Jersey with her BFF Barbara Payne Tyner, she returned home to Florida, where she met and married Henry Taylor, a navy rascal who had also returned home.

Nancy and Henry were married for 57 years, during which they made many friends, and memories, league bowling at the Beach Bowl throughout the 1970’s -1990’s. After retiring from bowling, Nancy and Henry spent their golden years visiting their grandchildren and playing Texas Hold ‘Em at the Best Bet Regency. Nancy especially became a cracked hand and played through her 83rd birthday.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Henry. She is survived by her son, Scott; daughters Kelly and Christine; their spouses; sister Ann DeVane; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A Memorial Service will be held on June 13, 11:00 am, at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home. In lieu of plants or flowers, the family asks that donations be made to McGraw Community Hospice
