Nancy Ann
Cortinovis
Oct 16, 1948 — Sep 19, 2026
Ponte Vedra
Nancy Ann Cortinovis, 77, passed away peacefully in the Lord on September 19, 2026 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nancy grew up in a close-knit family where she learned to love God and neighbor. After high school, she obtained a diploma in nursing at the now closed Braddock General Hospital School of Nursing. While working full time as a medical-surgical registered nurse, Nancy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Duquesne University, an achievement of which she was justifiably proud.
She and her husband Charlie enjoyed 52 years of marriage together, and Nancy relished any time she could spend with her family and friends. She was well known for her lively and friendly personality, her trademark bright smile and warm hugs, and she never hesitated to reach out to those in need. Her Catholic faith animated everything that she did, and Nancy often liked to say that she judged what she was doing by whether or not it would help her to get into heaven. She prayed regularly for priests and for vocations to the priesthood.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Adam Lotz and Marie (Steiner) Lotz, as well as her brother Gerard Lotz. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles Cortinovis, her children Fr. Charles Cortinovis and Louise (Aaron) Pifer, and grandson Aaron (AJ) Pifer, her sister, Judith (M. James) Milinovich, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers or donations, her family asks that Masses be offered for the repose of her soul.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home, where there will be a visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 1 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach with Reverend Charles Cortinovis as the celebrant.
