Myra S. Rhoden (80) passed away on July 4, 2026. She was born in Banana River, FL at the Naval Air Station, the daughter of Harold and Myra Schwerdt. She was raised around the world while her father’s career took the family to many different places. After graduating in Jacksonville from Robert E. Lee High School in 1963, she attended Jacksonville University. She worked at the Department of Children & Families for 35 years until retirement.

In 1997 Myra married Dwight Rhoden. They moved to Tallahassee in 2000 when her job was transferred, and they remained there through the end of their careers and into retirement. They were very active in Moose Lodge 1075 in Tallahassee until Dwight’s passing in January 2026. Myra then moved to Jacksonville Beach to be near her only sister, Noel Seiler.

Many thanks to the wonderful men and women at Beach House and the nurses at Community Hospice for their loving treatment until the end.

Myra will be buried with Dwight at the Tallahassee National Cemetery on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
