Mary Ann Mancino (nee Papiano) went to be with the Lord on October 27th. She passed away peacefully, at home, after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia on November 19, 1926, where she met the love of her life and her husband of 73 years, Joseph Mancino Sr.
Mary loved to be involved in her community. She served on the Homeowners Association Board in Fiddler’s Marsh and led their monthly dinner club. She was also active in the Ponte Vedra Woman’s Association where she helped raise money for a variety of charitable causes.
Anyone who knew her enjoyed the stories of her past that she loved to share.
Mary leaves behind her daughter, Mary Jane Cellucci (John) of Ponte Vedra Beach; son, Joseph Jr. (Brenda) of Palm Coast; twin daughters, Donna Mancino of Jacksonville Beach and Denise Stephanou (Henry) of Bogota, Colombia; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Patricia Mancino of Hatfield, PA. Mary is also survived by her seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Domenick and Mary Papiano; sisters, Virginia Posimo and Anne Landi and her brother, James Papiano.
Mary was a faithful member of Our Lady Star of the Sea. She was a devout Catholic who found peace in her love of the Lord and her devotion to the Rosary and especially to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She found her joy in being with her beloved Joseph and the family they created together. Mary had a special smile that lit up her face whenever she saw her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. They loved their Nona to the moon and back and she adored each one of them. Mary loved her family and her Joseph more than life itself. She will be loved and missed forever by all who knew her and will never forgotten.
Heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. Graciela Diez-Hoeck for the loving, kind and warmhearted care she provided Mary both physically and spiritually. Special thanks to Jenn, Mary’s Hospice nurse, for the compassionate care she provided.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A N, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32250 on Friday, November 7th.
