Martin John Trask, Sr., 85, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 with his wife and five children by his side. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 4, 1940, to the late Leon and Clara (nee-Pijanowksi) Trzaskawka. Devoted husband to Elizabeth (Betty) (nee-Hideg) of 63 years. Loving father to Cheryl, Martin Jr., Joseph, John and Jacqui. Cherished Poppy to grandkids Jason (Mue), Tara (Scott), Breanna (Devon), Tyler, Rachael (Jose), Nikolas and Jakob and great-grandkids Priscilla, Ava, Amelia, David and Cullen. Survived by brother, Paul (Carol) Trask, and predeceased by sister, Helen Ward, and brothers, Thaddeus Trask, Sr., Leon and his wife Marilyn Trzaskawka, Sr. and Edward (Joanne) Trzaskawka, Sr. Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A graduate of North Catholic High School in Philadelphia and then LaSalle College, he started his career with the Naval Shipyard and then the Department of Housing Urban Development (HUD) working his way up to a Chief Architect and Plans Cost Reviewer. After moving to Jacksonville in 1988, he retired in 1995 at the age of 55. After retiring at 55, he went on to form his own business, officially retiring at age 70. He served in both the Army and Air Force receiving an Honorable Discharge. He volunteered 10+ years with the Cinnaminson New Jersey Fire Department Station 202 – serving as President and earning himself a Life Membership for his dedicated service. For a number of years, he volunteered at the St. Charles Borromeo Church Annual Carnival in New Jersey, he coached all five children throughout their soccer endeavors, and he worked Bingo at St. Johns The Baptist Church.

His life was full of wonderful memories, loving family, exciting travels throughout the country and world, and truly great friends. His infectious smile, contagious laugh, sense of humor and kind heart is greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral mass on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2 pm at St. John The Baptist Church, located at 2400 Mayport Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32233.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to either of the following: American Heart Association and/ or National Kidney Foundation
