Marjorie Gindlesperger

February 29, 1944 — September 27, 2015

Marjorie Gail Gindlesperger, 71, went to be with her Savior and sing with the angels on September 27, 2015.

She was born on February 29, 1944 in Windber, PA to Rev. George and Eva (Byerly) Wright.

She grew up in Windber, PA; Pitsburg, OH; and West Charleston, Ohio, where she attended Bethel High School. She met Larry Gindlesperger while in Pennsylvania visiting her sister, Marilyn, and lifelong friend, Sally Gindlesperger. Larry and Marge were married the following July in 1963.

Marge was a devoted wife and mother, an amazing cook, and loved to sing, and play the piano and organ. She was involved in choral groups and was active in her church wherever the Air Force sent them. Marge proudly worked for the Huber Heights City School District for 20+ years. She loved roses and angels, and vacations with the family, including those with Sally (Gindlesperger) and Bill Miller. Chincoteague Island, Virginia was one of her favorite vacation spots.

After Larry retired from the Air Force, Marge and Larry settled in Huber Heights, Ohio. They became reacquainted with the Church of the Brethren; where she was very active with the choir as their director and pianist/organist. They recently moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be closer to family and to enjoy retirement.

Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry; daughters, Sheryl (Tom) of St. Petersburg, FL and Krista (Bob) of Livingston, MT; son Eric (Sarah) of Squamish, BC, Canada; grandchildren, Shawn, Natasha, Jessika, Chase and Leland; and sisters Myra Dull and Marilyn Berkey (Den).

The viewing will be held at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach, FL at 3:00pm on Thursday, Oct. 1st followed immediately by the funeral at 3:30pm. The internment will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10:30am on Friday, Oct 2nd. A memorial service will be held at the West Charleston Church of the Brethren in Ohio at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made either to Community Hospice McGraw Center, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257 or to the Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation, P.O. Box 6044, Bozeman, MT 59771.
