Marilyn Ann Scott, born on September 28, 1937, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2026, at the Hospice McGraw Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She was 88 years old when she passed away surrounded by the love of her family, who prayed with her and shared cherished memories in her final days.
Marilyn was a devoted wife to her late husband, Ronald Scott, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years before his passing in January of this year. Together they created a loving home, one filled with warmth and laughter, where Marilyn’s nurturing spirit thrived. She proudly adopted her daughter, Brenda, at birth and later welcomed her son, Bobby, into their family. Her legacy as a loving mother and grandmother lives on through her children and grandchildren—William, Heather, and Andrew Haas—who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
A graduate of high school in Cheyenne, Marilyn’s life was a tapestry of dedication and service. As a homemaker, she embraced her role wholeheartedly, ensuring the home was not only a place of comfort but also a space for building memories. Marilyn engaged deeply with her community, participating in the Meals on Wheels program and assisting with hurricane relief efforts in South Florida after Hurricane Andrew. Her involvement in her church and her willingness to help those in need reflected her caring nature.
Marilyn was known for her engaging personality; she loved connecting with others and enjoyed watching sports, playing cards with family, and taking her grandchildren to the beach and playground. Her talents extended into sewing and needlepoint, with beautiful pieces that adorned her home, each telling a story of her creative spirit.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Quinn Shalz Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather to share their favorite memories and honor a remarkable woman whose impact will be felt for generations.
