Margaret Mary “Peggy” Scrone, lovingly known for her radiant spirit and unwavering faith, left this world peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on April 27, 1941, in Morristown, New Jersey, Peggy’s life was a beautiful testament to kindness, warmth, and familial love, qualities that will remain cherished among her family and friends.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Peggy understood her to be a woman full of faith, warmth, and love. Her generous spirit was reflected in the lives of her children, Andrew Scrone, Deborah Scrone-Smith, and Brian (Coco) Scrone, who carried forward the values she instilled in them. She had an unwavering pride in her family—a pride evident in the joyous moments shared with her grandchildren: Cooper, Christian, Genevieve, Shane, Zion, and Izaiah. Each child held a special place in her heart, with her love extending seamlessly to the Morrison and Maietta families, who she loved dearly.

Peggy was deeply devoted to her faith and dedicated much of her life to her church community. She cultivated a beautiful sisterhood through her involvement, volunteering eagerly for various endeavors, especially the Mission and St Francis house. A eucharistic minister and a cherished member of Chirp, Peggy’s life was intertwined with her faith, beautifully highlighting her commitment to service and love for others.

In her final moments, Peggy was surrounded by her family, invoking a profound atmosphere of love and prayer. At the exact moment the priest completed the Eternal Rest prayer in the hospital and said “Amen” that she took her last breath and transitioned from this life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

She is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Deacon Daniel Scrone; her grandson, Christian Smith; her parents, Hubert and "Peggy" Graham; and her siblings, Bobby, Carol, and Johnny, who have welcomed her into their embrace.

As we remember Peggy, we celebrate her life—a beacon of love who uplifted those around her. Her legacy resides not only in the wonderful memories she created but also in the virtues she imparted to her family, fostering a spirit of love and faith that will endure through generations.
