Marcia Chambers

Marcia Chambers, 78 joined The LORD on August 26th, 2025. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and a resident of Ponte Vedra for 35 years.

Marcia was predeceased by spouses, George Fraed, Chip Chambers, son, Daniel George Fraed and is survived by her sister Marleen Hobbs (Shelton), (step) daughters Cindy Fraed (Sharon), Jan Clements, Pam Veth, grandchildren, Laura Blunt, Robert Bonnichsen and great grandchildren, Taylor Bonnichsen, Jacob Bonnichsen, Theia Taylor, and her beloved dog, Foxy.

Marcia attended The University of Florida and earned an Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education in Specific Learning Disabilities. Her teaching career included most elementary grade levels, Hospital/Homebound Elementary Resource, Director of Education for St. John's River Hospital and Standards Coach at Atlantic Beach Elementary School.

Marcia was an avid Gator, and member of Kappa, Alpha, Theta and PEO. She devoted free time as a community volunteer including Girl Scout Leader, Duval County School SOS Program, The American Cancer Society and a Community Hospice volunteer for 16 years.

Strong in her faith, Marcia's church activities include Past President of the Episcopal Church Women for the Diocese of Florida, Director of the EYC at St. Paul's by-the Sea, Leader of the Church Women, Lay Eucharistic Minister and Pastoral Care provider and Reader at Christ Church. A long-time member of Redeemer Church Marcia participated as a reader; served communion and greeted fellow Christians.

Marcia loved people and animals, and cared selflessly for all. One of GOD's Angels on Earth, a pure creation and instrument of HIS love. Anyone privileged to know her understands.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Redeemer Church, Ponte Vedra on October 1st at 10:00 am.

Memorials to Community Hospice of NE Florida or your favorite animal shelter are requested in lieu of flowers.
