Leonard Thomas (Tom) Malloy passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 81 at Community Hospice St. Vincent’s Southside Center, Jacksonville, Florida. Tom was born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 5,1944, and graduated from Nutley Highschool in 1963.

Tom was a high school standout in Track and Field, Basketball and Football and his love of football took him to Tucson, Arizona and the University of Arizona Wildcats where he played the position of linebacker graduating in 1967.

The majority of Tom’s professional career was spent in Telecommunications with US West/Century Link spanning Arizona. Colorado, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and ending in Jacksonville, Florida where he retired in 1998.

During his rich retirement years, Tom enjoyed golf, watching football, especially his Arizona Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys, relaxing on the patio and enjoying a good cigar. But most of all Tom loved his grandchildren and followed their many milestones through grade school, high school and college. During his final year he was thrilled to learn his granddaughter, Olivia, would attend his Alma Mater, the University of Arizona in the Fall of 2025.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda, his son Leonard Malloy, Jr. Jacksonville, FL, stepdaughter, Kristin Romesburg, Gilbert, AZ, and four grandchildren, Leonard Thomas Malloy, III (Tra), Jacksonville, FL, Christian Malloy, Lawrenceville, GA, Zachariah Romesburg, Tempe, AZ and Olivia Romesburg, Tucson, AZ.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, any gifts be directed to the Community Hospice & Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
