Laurel Kean

Laurel Faye Kean, 67, passed away on December 31, 2018 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on April 28, 1951 in Boston, MA, she grew up in nearby Arlington and Danvers, spending most of her life in the Boston area before moving to the Florida Keys in 2012. Laurel and her husband then relocated to Jacksonville Beach a little more than a year ago.

A graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Suffolk University, Laurel enjoyed a lengthy career in Human Resources and Real Estate before retiring to Key Largo within the last few years. In addition to her career and family, Laurel devoted a significant portion of her time to volunteer work, supporting Habitat for Humanity and other organizations.

Laurel is survived by her husband of 41 years, James; son, Alexander; and brother, Matthew. She was predeceased by her father, Edwin; mother, May; and sister, Beth.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Friday, January 11 at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home in Jacksonville Beach.
