Kimberley Jean Strayve, 67, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her husband and children, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born and raised in Miami, Florida, though her adult life carried her to many different places. In a fitting close to her story, Kimberley will be laid to rest in the place she always considered home.
Kimberley met the love of her life, Christopher Strayve, at the University of Florida in 1977, and together they shared 49 years of a loving marriage. She devoted her life to her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. Her love for them was the center of all that she did. She had a natural gift for making every person in her life feel seen and cherished, and she poured her love into special events and every moment in between. Among her children’s fondest memories are: driving together in the family van, "Big Blue," singing along to Shania Twain, Whitney Houston, and Selena.
Kimberley was naturally beautiful and elegant. She will always be remembered for the brilliant smile and warm laugh that lit up every room she entered. She touched countless lives through her selfless care and grace, welcoming family and friends into her home in their moments of need. Above all, Kimberley was a devout Christian and a faithful servant of the Lord throughout her life.
Kimberley is survived by her loving husband, her seven children, and her fourteen grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Cynthia, and was predeceased by her sister, Jennifer, and by her parents, Cynthia and Michael Lyons.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. A celebration of Kimberley's life will be held afterward with close family and friends.
