Judith Monsanto

December 19, 1941 — June 8, 2021

Judith Lucette Dorvil was born on December 19, 1941, in Port de Paix, Haiti, to the union of the late Villard Dorvil and Madeleine Sainjour.  Lucette, has been commonly known as Cette, TiLu, Manmi Lu, Tatie Lu, and Grandma to her friends, late husband, children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Lucette completed her primary education at Notre Dame de la Sagesse in Port de Paix, Haiti and finished her secondary education at Lycée des Jeunes Filles in Port au Prince.

After two years working social services (residence rurale) at the l' hôpital Général in Haiti, she met the Love of her life, the late Edner C. Monsanto. They were shortly united in holy matrimony on March 20, 1969. From this union came two sons, Luc Edner and Gregory Patrick.

Lucette and her newly found husband migrated to The United States, where she started working as a Nurse at Jersey City Medical Center. Throughout her career her desire to be helpful to others made being a nurse a perfect match.

Lucette had a love for dancing and could not help but to demonstrate that love the moment she heard music. She was known for elegance as well as her desire to be helpful to anyone, as she considered everyone “God’s Children”.

She was a joyful soul that found pleasure in caring for her children, family and friends, with a laugh that would light up a room!

Lucette leaves to cherish her memory two children, Luc (Nicole) Monsanto of WPB, FL and Greg Monsanto of Jax Fl; her grandchildren, Chakari and Israel Monsanto of WPB, FL; sisters, Marie-Virta Dorvil of Montreal, Canada and Eve Marie Sincere of Port au Prince, Haiti; nephews, nieces, a host of cousins and friends.

Lucette was preceded in death by her Brother, Turenne Joseph Dorvil.
