Judith Elaine King, 66, passed away February 14, 2024, at her residence in Atlantic Beach, Florida. She was born September 29, 1957, to the late Samuel Harold King of Mayport, Florida and June Brooks King of Folkston, Georgia. Judy graduated from Fletcher High School in 1975. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at University of North Florida in 1979 and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from University of Florida in 1984. She was employed by JEA as a Software Engineer from 1984 through 1997 and then by Ceva Logistics as a Senior Software Engineer for 26 years. She was on the Board of Directors for the Honeybee Quilters Guild. She shared this love of quilting and sewing with her mom where they loved spending numerous hours quilting and sewing to donate quilts and blankets for various local charities.
She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Harold King, Aunt Mildred Ogram, Aunt Pauline Herrin Crews, Uncle Bill Brooks, and Uncle Victor Brooks. She is survived by her mom, June Brooks King, one aunt (Fay Brooks), one uncle(Glynn Brooks - wife Rosa Mae) and several cousins. Graveside Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 16 in the Tillotson Cemetery on Girvin Road in Jacksonville, Florida with Dr. Jeremiah Stanley of Trinity Baptist Church officiating.
