Joseph (Joe) Vincent Tabone, 75 of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Born on July 3, 1945, Sliema, Malta, the son of William Henry Sr. and Rosalie Tabone (Vella). The family moved to the United States, 1955. He graduated from Fordson High School, Dearborn, Michigan, 1963. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served, 1965-1968. After leaving the Navy, he began working at General Motors Parts Fabrication, Warren, Michigan, until he retired, 2008, after 40 years of service.
Together with his best friend Lynda, marriage and adventures endured over 45 years. Retirement was enjoyed in Jacksonville, Florida, 2009. As a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was always happy to provide advice and guidance. Joe enjoyed fishing, boating, and loved any type of food. He was a history buff and considered a walking encyclopedia. A daily love and routine included walking his Old English Sheepdog, Tank, several miles. A sharp wit, dry sense of humor, warm heart and generous spirit will deeply be missed.
Surviving are one son, Joseph William (Rebecca) Tabone of Lansing, Michigan and two daughters, Angela (Keith) Harmison of Atlanta, Georgia, and Michelle (Russell) Winter of Lowell, Michigan and five grandchildren, Lauren, Sarah, Alexander, Ava, and Josephine, mother Rosalie Tabone (101 years old), William Henry Jr. (Catherine) Tabone of Jacksonville, Florida, Frank (Christine) Tabone of Lincoln Park, Michigan, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws whom he dearly loved. Joe was preceded in death by his father William Henry Tabone Sr. and brother Henry Tabone.
A private service will be held in Michigan at Veterans National Cemetery at a later date.
