John Thomas DeLorenzo, 61, was born to eternal life on March 16, 2023. John passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones after a long-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Hackensack NJ, raised in Park Ridge NJ, and moved to Jacksonville FL in 1996, where he lived for the remainder of his life.

John is survived by his four children, Allison DeLorenzo, Devon Fleming (husband Nathan), Michael DeLorenzo and Mary DeLorenzo; his partner, Amanda Vanjaria, and her daughter, Mia Vanjaria; his mother, Mary DeLorenzo; his four siblings, Mary Ann DeLorenzo, Anthony DeLorenzo (wife Keiko), Diane Scheffler (husband Scott) and Susan Bromley (husband Steve); his many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Finley. He joins his father, Anthony DeLorenzo, in heaven.

John was a graduate of Park Ridge High School (1980) where he excelled as a scholar-athlete across multiple sports, and Williams College (1984) where he was a standout punter for the Ephs’ football team. Upon graduation, John began a successful career in group insurance in New York City, which he continued after moving to Jacksonville. A living legend in his industry, he consistently topped national sales rankings and later was an executive leader of national sales teams until his retirement in 2015.

John was a devoted partner, son and father to his children who were the light of his life. He loved to travel, attend concerts and go to the beach. John was also a loyal supporter of the Jaguars and a long-time season ticketholder with his children.

A private memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. In lieu of flowers, Johns family requests that donations be made to Dreams Come True of Jacksonville (www.dreamscometrue.org).
