John Fred Boccio

John Fred Boccio, 89, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Baptist Medical Center Beaches, surrounded by family.

John was born March 17, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, to Fred and Ema Boccio. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from St. John’s University, graduating in 1965.

John worked in Information Technology and Executive Management for the majority of his career. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville Beach. He attended Church every day and was an Usher at St. Paul’s every Saturday. His greatest joy was his family, spending time together and telling stories of the old days.

John is survived by his daughters, Rose Boccio of Champaign, IL and Savannah McLemore (Travis) of Winston-Salem, NC; his sons Fred Boccio (Rita) of Jacksonville, FL and Salvatore Boccio (Lisa) of Madison, NC; four grandchildren: John s (Casey, Corey (Holly), John T (Ava), and Amelia; three great-grandchildren: Theresa, Levon, and Emilia; his niece Leslie and her family; his nephews John, Robert, Michael, Thomas and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Fred Boccio; his sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and John Quinn; and his niece Hope Quinn.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 523 Pablo Avenue, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Burial will be at 2:30pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Jacksonville National Cemetery. 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
