Joanne Jordan

Joanne Lynn Jordan, 59, went to be with our Lord on November 2, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Charlotte Mitchell. Born on September 13, 1954 in Seaford, DE and later moved to Chester, MD when she was a small child. Joanne attended Queenstown High and local community colleges. She enjoyed speaking the Spanish language, her minor in college. She moved to Jacksonville, FL over 16 years ago and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UNF.

She enjoyed all the great conveniences of living in the city and the beautiful weather in Jacksonville as opposed to living in Kent Island, MD. She had no plans to move away from here. She loved her friends, the New Life Christian Fellowship Church and the women’s bible study group. She lived a Christian life and loved our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a wonderful wife and mother.

She is survived by her loving husband Benjamin Donald Jordan of 32 years; brother, Joseph Todd Mitchell and his wife Kim of Stevensville, MD; brother-in-law, Richard Jordan; sister-in-law, Shirley Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved and only child Christopher “Chris” Jordan; parents, Joseph B. and Charlotte Mitchell; and father-in-law, Benjamin Jordan;

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7th in Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home of Jacksonville Beach. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8th in the small Chapel of New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 2701 Hodges Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32224. Interment will follow in Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.

Donations may be made in honor of Joanne’s late son Chris. Any SunTrust Bank, Acct. #1000135667128, ACH RT 061000104. This fund was set up for his girlfriend’s son “Caleb Robinson” college education.
