Joan J. Mease

Joan Dennie Mease, of Morganton, North Carolina, and Atlantic Beach, Florida, passed away after a long illness. She was born and raised in Maple Shade, New Jersey, and moved to North Carolina in 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Fry and Mae Esther Nessen Fry; her brother, Richard Fry, Jr.; her husband, Phillip Dennie; and her second husband, C. N. Mease.

She is survived by her children, Mark Dennie (Shannon) and Christina Dennie Nichols (Jason); her grandchildren, Amber Shane, Sara Dennie, and Phillip Dennie; and several great-grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Webb and Doris Westcott.

Joan was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church and will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the way she made everyone feel special.
