Joan M. Cornelison

 Joan Marie Cornelison, 92, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 in the company of her caring family. She was born on November 29, 1932 in Ewing Township near Trenton, NJ. She graduated from Trinity College of Washington D.C., entered religious life, and began teaching with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. She left the community in 1973 and married the love of her life, Chuck, a year later. She was an educator and school administrator for over forty years but called herself a high school English teacher.

 After retirement, Joan volunteered at Saint John the Beloved Church in Summerville, South Carolina and Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She was an avid reader and was always delighted to talk about her favorite piece of fiction, David Copperfield. Joan enjoyed being at the beach and held vacations at the Jersey Shore close to her heart. She also treasured spending time with her family, was a true animal lover, and passionately cheered for the Washington Redskins football team.

 Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, her parents, John T. and Mary A. (nee Tyrrell) Glover, and her sisters, Mary Jaggard (Joseph) and Ann Gloser (Frank).

 Her legacy will endure through her family. She is survived by three stepchildren James, Paul, and Kim (Phil), three grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews including her niece, Jill, her dedicated caregiver.

 Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, December 5, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida. Family and friends are invited for visitation at 10:00 am, a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00, and a reception in the Parish Hall following Mass.
