Jimmy "JJ" DuWayne Johnson of Jacksonvile Beach, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, while in the care of McGraw Hospice Center on May 5, 2025.
JJ was born September 13, 1940 in Forest County, Wisconsin. He grew up raising and showing horses throughout North Carolina. He served our great country in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Alaska and Okinawa, Japan.
JJ moved to Jacksonville, Florida in the early 1970's and had a career in automobile sales until his retirement. JJ cherished the years living in Palm Valley, fishing off the dock, spending time with is beautiful wife and family and was a die hard GATOR fan!
JJ is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pam Johnson; daughter, Michelle Whatley (Russell); grandchildren, Colin and Lauren Whatley; and many loving family and friends. JJ is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Monroe.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 13th at Quinn Shalz Funeral Home, 3600 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Military honors will be rendered at 5:00 p.m.
