James Peterson, Jr.

James A. Peterson Jr, age 61, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.  Born December 28, 1956 in Panama City, FL.  James was the son of the late James A. Peterson Sr. and Faye S. Peterson.

James thoroughly enjoyed his job with Darifair as the Help Desk Tech.  He had a passion and unique gift for helping others, which spilled into all areas of his life.  James was also heavily involved in charitable work for the Yellow Ribbon Fund, Inc., where his talents were shared.  James enjoyed a wide range of activities throughout his life, including skiing, clogging, racquetball and gaming.  More recently, you could discover James diligently researching, planning, and taking pride in home improvement and yard work.

James is survived by Melissa Vanderlip, his best friend and kindred spirit, with whom he shared a loving relationship with for eight years.  James is also survived by his sister, Katie Kupperman (Keith); brothers, Mark Peterson, Paul Peterson (Beth), and David Peterson; niece, Carly; and nephews, Justin, Jordan, AJ, Joshua, Joseph, and Jared.

A memorial service will be held at 6 P.M., Thursday, August 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz, 3600 Third Street South, Jacksonville Beach, Florida 32250.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of James to the MPN Research Foundation.
